An easy 5 minute microwave Cadbury Creme Egg Fudge made from just 3 ingredients… sweetened condensed milk, chocolate and Cadbury Creme Easter eggs! Welcome to Creme Egg season!

A microwave fudge filled with Creme Eggs, cut into slices.

It’s Easter! It’s Easter! It’s Easter!

The BEST time of the year for all of us chocoholics.

This is the one time of the year that it’s perfectly acceptable to eat chocolate before breakfast (in fact, it’s almost expected)!

And of course, it just wouldn’t be Easter if you didn’t carry on the day with a batch of hot cross buns, followed up with an Easter egg inspired dessert (like this simple Easter Creme Egg Fudge!) and finally finishing the day with an Easter egg chocolate cocktail (yes, you read that right – an Easter egg cocktail!).

A slab of chocolate fudge with Easter eggs pressed into it.

What Are Creme Eggs?

Creme Eggs are a type of chocolate Easter treat in the shape of an egg.

They are famous for their sweet soft white and yellow filling which is designed to resemble the egg white and yolk of a real egg.

Creme Eggs are produced by Cadbury and are popular across the world.

The are sold in two sizes – a larger single size egg as well as in packets of mini-sized eggs.

Creme Eggs are very popular over the Easter holidays and are just as delicious when eaten on their own or when added in your favourite baking recipes (like my Creme Egg inspired cheesecakes, brownies, slices, fudge and more).

Why You’re Going To Love This Recipe

What’s not to love about a delicious chocolate-filled dessert?

Microwave Fudge

A few years ago I started making fudge in the microwave and have never, ever looked back. It’s honestly the easiest possible way to make a batch of soft, melt-in-your-mouth fudge.

Oh and it takes less than 5 minutes and just 1 bowl.

Most microwave fudge recipes (including this one!) are made using sweetened condensed milk and chocolate. How simple is that!

It’s important to melt the chocolate and sweetened condensed milk in the microwave on 50% power (as you don’t want to overcook it and make it grainy).

What You Need

To make this sweet Cadbury Creme Egg Fudge you will need just 3 ingredients (yep – only 3!):

Note: please scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for ingredient quantities and the full detailed method.

The ingredients for Creme Egg fudge.

  • Chocolate – I like to use milk chocolate in this recipe. However, if you’d like a less sweet option, then use dark chocolate instead. The better the quality of chocolate, the better your fudge will be (I like to use Cadbury, Nestle, Hersheys or Lindt).
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk – choose full fat sweetened condensed milk as it sets firmer than the skim or light versions.
  • Cadbury Creme Eggs – use the mini Creme Eggs that can be purchased in a packet from the supermarket. Do not use the large individual Creme Eggs as they are far too big for this recipe.

Step By Step Instructions

Note: please scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for ingredient quantities and the full detailed method.

Step 1 – Melt

Melt the chocolate and the sweetened condensed milk in the microwave (on 50% power).

Stir until smooth and creamy.

Step 2 – Pour Into Tin

Working quickly, pour the fudge into the prepared tin and press the Creme Eggs firmly on top.

Step 3 – Chill

Place the fudge into the fridge for 2-3 hours. Once set, cut into small pieces.

Expert Tips

What can I use if I don’t have a microwave?

If you don’t have a microwave you can melt the chocolate and sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan over low heat. Alternatively, you can use a Thermomix (refer to the recipe card for details).

Can I still make this if I don’t have Creme Eggs?

Absolutely! Substitute with any of your favourite mini filled Easter eggs. Some of my favourite variations include mini caramel filled eggs and Turkish Delight filled eggs.

Is this a soft fudge or a firm fudge?

This is a relatively soft fudge. As such, it needs to be stored in the fridge until you’re ready to consume it.
For a slightly firmer fudge, substitute the milk chocolate for a dark chocolate with a high cocoa percentage.

Storing

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Freezing

Freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Allow to defrost in the fridge before consuming.
